A Sunday (Bird) Walk in the Park

Ages 5 – 7 and their families
Join Scot Pipkin, Director of Education & Engagement at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, and Museum Teaching Artists for this family-friendly adventure in birdwatching and sketching in Alice Keck Park Memorial Garden. Afterwards, walk to the Museum’s neighboring Ridley-Tree Education Center at McCormick House and create more art inspired by the exhibition Flowers on A River: The Art of Chinese Flower-and-Bird Painting, 1368–1911, Masterworks from Tianjin Museum and Changzhou Museum.
All materials and sketchbooks included. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Winter Gift-Making Workshop

Children ages 5-12 gain inspiration from works of art in the Museum’s collection to draw, paint, print, collage, and sculpt artful gifts to share with friends and family.
